“One Week of the Red Cross Society Has Shown that Deft Fingers Nowadays Can Work as Did Those of Their Patriot Predecessors in the Times of Other Wars.

After just one week's work the women Of the St. Paul Red Cross society can rest upon their laurels and view with warranted satisfaction the result of their labor in long rows of piles of bundles and bales of completed garments in the headquarters' building on Sixth street.

In as much as the Thirteenth regiment was presented a neat sum of money by President J. J. Hill, of the Great Northern, the committee decided to send only the bandages and bands to the Thirteenth and save the delicacies for the other regiments, as the sum contributed was sufficient to provide the Thirteenth with all the necessities and essentials, for the hospital corps.

The following contributions were received at the headquarters yesterday:

Mrs. McMichael— Jelly.

Mrs. P. Doherty— Old cotton

Mrs. S. C. Coot— Old flannel

Mrs. F. B. Tiffany— Grape juice.

The Lazy Club - 170 Hospital napkins.

Mrs. L. A. Guiterman— One gallon claret

Mrs. Buchanan— Six dozen hospital napkins,

Mrs M. Doran— Thirty-four cans condensed milk, old linen.

Mrs Dr Geo. S. McPherson — Ninety-six surgical bandages.

Ladies of St. Anthony Park— Grape Juice, jelly, eighteen abdominal bands, package of old linen and cotton.

Mrs. Larkin— Old cotton.

Mrs. R. J. Gribble— Raspberry vinegar

Miss Payne— Three shirts and handkerchiefs.

Mrs. Whitcomb— Bandages of cotton

St. Joseph's Church— One dozen pillowslips, 26 abdominal bands, 8 dozen surgical bands, bundles old linen, 1 box button, 1 dozen night shirts, cotton material

Mrs. Doran, Cathedral Parish— Material for women's dresses.

Mrs. J. B. Arey— Wine and jelly.

Mrs. C. B. — Leigh old linen.

Mrs. A. E. Whitney— Old linen.

Mrs. Frank Doran, West Side Auxiliary — Bandages, night shirts, old linen.

Mrs. P. W. Fiske— Old linen.

Mrs. Hutson— Old linen.

Miss Wayland — One bandage.

Daughters of Erin, Division No. 3— One bolt of muslin.

Mrs. J. J. McCardy— Two dozen pillow slips.

Miss Josephine Purnell — Old linen.

Mrs. H. L. Moss— Old cotton.”
